Illinois man arrested after a pursuit

WARREN COUNTY—Just before 10:30 a.m. this morning, Trooper Jeffries was patrolling State Road 63 near State Road 28 when he stopped a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer for speeding. The driver, identified as Christopher McCaa, 21, from Country Club Hills, IL, initially complied, but as Trooper Jeffries approached the vehicle, he fled northbound on State Road 63 to US 41.

Trooper Jeffries continued the pursuit as the vehicle entered Benton County. With the collaboration of a Benton County Deputy, a tire deflation device was successfully deployed across US 41, which the vehicle struck. Shortly after, the vehicle safely came to a stop. McCaa was apprehended without incident and subsequently transported to the Warren County Jail.

Following a thorough investigation, law enforcement officers discovered suspected marijuana inside the vehicle.

Christopher McCaa, 21, from County Club Hills, IL faces preliminary charges, including:

  1. Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle – Level 6 Felony
  2. Driving While Suspended – Class A Misdemeanor
  3. Possession of Marijuana – Class B Misdemeanor
  4. Reckless Driving – Class C Misdemeanor

Trooper Jeffries received assistance from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, and Fowler Police Department during the pursuit and apprehension.
