Mr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas undertakes a five-day visit to Sierra Leone

Mohamed Ibn Chambas, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), has started on Monday 20  November 2017, a five-day visit to Freetown, Sierra Leone.

This visit is part of UNOWAS continuous support to Sierra Leone for the preparation of the general elections scheduled for March 2018.

During his visit, Mr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas is expected to meet with the Sierra Leoneans authorities, political actors, civil society organizations, diplomatic corps, and the United Nations Country Team.

Today, Mr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas will meet separately with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Samura M. W. Kamara, and the President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma.
