Malaysian company seeks income stability from Thai ethanol venture

October 10, 2016 |

In Malaysia, KNM Group expects 70% of its revenue to come from renewable energy, the vast majority of which will come from its 72% shareholding in Thailand’s Impress Ethanol Co. when it is fully operation in 2023. The facility is expected to come online in 2017. The remainder of the group’s operations are as contract players, but the recurring income from the ethanol investment provides consistency to the company’s otherwise fluctuating financial situation. KNM has secured a $79.9 million bond to help consolidate debt and facilitate further ethanol investments.
